Ugh, BUBU Dating. What a letdown! I was so excited to try out this new dating site but it just didn’t live up to the hype. First of all, the user profiles are pretty much public domain – anyone can view them without having an account or being logged in. That’s not exactly what you want when you’re looking for love online and trying to keep your private life private! Plus there isn’t any way that I could find where you can set a custom bio either which is kind of annoying because then people don’t really know who they’re talking too unless they read through their profile page first. The location info in each profile is also super specific – like down-to-the street level type stuff – so if someone wanted privacy on that front, forget about it! There doesn’t seem to be any indication of how far away users are from one another either which makes me think twice before swiping right since distance matters when it comes to relationships these days (especially during COVID). And speaking of swiping…there aren’t even many benefits for those with premium subscriptions besides getting more likes per day than regular accounts do; nothing else stands out as worth shelling out extra money for at least not from my experience using the app over several weeks now…which brings me back around full circle: why bother?
To top things off, while testing BUBU Dating I encountered plenty o’ fake profiles making my time spent here feel totally wasted (not cool!).
